I studied pharmaceutical sciences at College of pharmacy, Delhi University. After that I joined NIPER Mohali for pursuing MS Pharm from Department of pharmacology and Toxicology, NIPER mohali. I entered neuropharmacology research and worked in same specialization for my doctoral degree which I completed in the year 2011. I worked in various capacities in big pharmaceutical companies like Novartis healthcare private limited and Dr Reddys laboratories before joining NIPER Hyderabad as assistant professor. Currently I am associated with department of pharmacology and toxicology, NIPER Hyderabad and continuing my academic research in the area of diabetic neuropathy and neuropathic pain.

I am working in the diabetic neuropathy and peripheral neuropathies for past 8 years looking at the pathophysiology underlying peripheral nerve disorder. Our research is motivated by the vision of understanding interlinked mechanisms contributing towards the neuronal damage in diabetic condition and under nerve injury due to trauma or chemotherapy exposure. Most of the research done in this area has been focused on symptomatically relieving neuropathy outcomes. But the research on mechanistic approach towards treatment regimen is albeit very less. We tried to explore few of pathomechanisms like oxidative nitrosative stress, PARP over-activation, advanced glycation end product formation, MAPK activation and activation of transcription factors like Nuclear kappa B. The research work accomplished so far has been published in many of reputed journals and has been widely cited by scientific community
