BIOGRAPHY

I studied Bachelor of Pharmacy at UCPSc, Kakatiya University, Warangal. I completed MS (Pharm) programme (2004-2006) from Dept of Pharmacology and Toxicology from NIPER Mohali and graduated in 2006. I entered PhD programme in Dept of Pharmacology and Toxicology under Prof Poduri Rama Rao in the area of Nanotoxicology, this project was sponsored by DST- Centre for Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology (CPN) and I was awarded doctorate in Feb 2011. From Oct 2010 to March 2011, I worked as an assistant professor in KLR Pharmacy College, Kakatiya University. Before joining NIPER Hyderabad as an assistant professor, I worked as a Post doctoral fellow in Florida A&M University under the supervision of Prof Mandip Sachdeva during the period of 2011-2013. Currently I am associated with Department of Regulatory Toxicology, NIPER Hyderabad and continuing my academic research in the area of Nanotoxicology, Nano drug delivery and Toxicology.

RESEARCH SUMMARY

In the initial stages of my research career, I worked in the area of cardiovascular complications (Vascular and endothelial dysfunction) associated with metabolic syndrome, in vitro tissues experiments and diabetes. Since 2006, I have been working in the area of Nanotoxicology (Toxicity associated with Nanomaterials and Nano drug delivery systems), Genotoxicity, Nano drug delivery of anticancer, anti diabetic drugs. My areas of research interest are Novel strategies to improve the drug delivery to tumor, Role of tumor fibrosis in Nanodrug delivery, Oral drug delivery of various poorly water soluble drugs, In vitro 3D culture based tumor models for drug screening and Inhalation toxicity. I am also proposing the studies based on Inhalation delivery of drugs and formulations to treat lung cancer and pulmonary diseases. The research work accomplished so far has been published in many of reputed journals and has been widely cited by scientific community.
